Which day of the week is best for new beginnings?

Hint – it starts with the letter “p”

Not every day of the week is the same for doing something new.

You probably already have your own experience of how different days of the week are differently favoured for different things, tasks, topics. Monday has a reputation for being something we don’t look forward to, because it heralds a new working week. On the contrary, we start looking forward to the weekend on Thursday, which some people call “Little Friday”. And Friday’s atmosphere is usually already more relaxed in anticipation of the days off.

And when are these ideas in the air the most? When we have a minute to ourselves, when we are more rested, when we are aware of how we live and what we would like to do. Most of the time, it’s during weekends or holidays. When we get a bit out of our daily routine, we get a bit overwhelmed. During the weekends, there are limited opportunities to harness our new vigour and put our newness into action. If we need some equipment, the shop might be closed, the experts (in sport, nutrition, relationships, etc.) are also mostly absent or enjoying their free time… And so it becomes clear when to really start afresh.

And on new beginnings. There are many occasions when we have the idea of starting something. A new hobby, a new habit in terms of diet, exercise, education, communication… The idea comes, we get momentarily excited, and then, when it would be time to implement it, the initial enthusiasm somehow fades, dilutes. Is it? Not always, but often it is.

The winning day for new beginnings is MONDAY!

Who are you on Monday?

On Monday, you’re ready to start a new diet, break your worst habit and generally make the first day of the week feel like the first day of the year. New and new again 😀 On Monday you do something you’ve always wanted to do, you train for a little marathon, you go to pilates, you go to bootcamp or yoga…

At the Vitalis Centre, we receive most of our email enquiries for exercise classes at weekends and on Monday mornings. The same goes for calls. And we know it’s important to support you in your new choices. Because often goals are still undefined, the future is unclear… We understand and we want to help you.

Another good thing about these Mondays – there are 52 of them on average during the year! So there’s plenty of opportunity to let the energy and momentum of the new week support you in your decisions. Take courage! You will succeed. If we can help you do that, and live our mission in doing so, give us a call or drop us a line. We are here. Especially on Monday 😉
